10 Fall Fashion Staples for the Curve-Friendly Closet

It’s fall y’all! Time to do a round up of all my fall fashion favorites — curve-friendly edition! I’ve listed and linked 10 fall staples for curvy body types. Only the most comfortable and flattering made the list! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

1. UO Rosie Ribbed High-Waisted Flare Pant, $49

These pants from Urban Outfitters are SO comfy! They are made of lightweight material and have a stretchy waistband. They give you a little extra room in the bum and legs so they had to make the curve-friendly favorites list.

They come in a variety of colors including neutrals and more bright, fun colors! I bought them in brown but the green, black, ivory, and even the mint are all cute colors, too!

While the material stretches a bit, it can cling to your legs, which I think is important to mention! Also, the fabric can shift off of the waistband a little bit so you might have to readjust it if you’re moving a lot. So far I’ve only worn them on a night in — they stayed in place on my hips while I walked around the house.

If you’re looking for a more casual or fun pair of pants for fall, I highly recommend them! They come in sizes S-XL.

2. AE The Dream Jean Curvy Super High-Waisted Jegging, ON SALE for $52.46! (reg. $69.95)

Okay, so if you know me at all, you know how much I hate jeans! I find them restrictive and uncomfortable and I prefer leggings 10/10 times. HOWEVER, I found these jeggings from American Eagle and they are a game changer. It’s probably the ‘egging’ part of these jeggings that make these bottoms so comfortable but I can wear them all day without any discomfort. They also make your fall outfits look SO much more put together compared to leggings. They come in two colors — black and denim — but the denim are ripped. I’m sure they are just as comfy, just t a little more casual.

These jeggings are made for curves! Plus they come in a variety of sizes — from 000 short to 24 long.

They are also on sale right now! AE is having a sale — 25% off select styles of jeans. If you are in need of a comfortable pair of bottoms that pass as jeans, I highly recommend these jeggings!

3. AE Ne(x)t Level Curvy Super High-Waisted Jegging, $49.95

Okay, one more pair of jeggings have to make this list! As a curvy woman, I find bottoms to be the hardest item of clothing for me to find! That’s why I wanted to share these bottoms, which actually worked for me! They are also from American Eagle and they are also made with curves in mind! They are high-waisted (so they keep everything in) and very comfortable! I highly recommend.

They come in a variety of shades of denim as well as black and white. Just like the The Dream Jean Jegging, this jegging also comes in the same range of sizes (000 short to 24 long).

I like these jeggings because they aren’t ripped, which I think can elevate a fall look. I paired mine with a sweater and belt! I think tucking a sweater into the high-waist makes me look narrower in the middle, which I thought was very flattering! If you need a new pair of jeans, you can definitely get away with these cute and comfy jeggings!

4. LOFT Faux Suede Side Zip Leggings, ON SALE for $41.70! (reg. $69.50!)

Okay, these leggings are SO cute! They’re suede (so cool) and a light brown color — perfect for fall! You can wear them with a tunic or long sweater. I think they would also look good with a long-sleeved shirt and jacket.

I thought these were a cute choice for bottoms that weren’t jeans/jeggings. They’re a little more fun in terms of texture and color so there’s more to do with them! They also seem to look good on everyone! (Check LOFT’s website to confirm).

They have a stretchy waistband to accommodate curves and a zipper in the back. I found them to be a little looser in the waist and a little tight (only slightly) in the legs — but my legs are rather curvy! I think they still fit well.

They come in a range of sizes from regular (00-18) to plus (14-26). They also have petite sizes! (Gotta love brands with inclusive sizing!).

They are also on sale right now! Use the code LOFTIMIST at checkout for 40% these fun fall leggings! (You might even find more LOFT goodies to add to your cart, like this matching moto jacket, which also comes in plus, petite, and tall sizes, too!).

5. SPANX Faux Leather Leggings, $98

Okay, last set of bottoms — I swear! I first saw these faux leather leggings during the Nordstrom sale over the summer but I put off buying them because I wasn’t sure what I would wear them with. HOWEVER, since I’ve seen them SO MUCH and they come highly recommended, I finally splurged and bought a pair for myself. They’re actually very cute! Stretchy AND flattering!

I’ve seen them worn with sweaters and boots or flats — just like regular leggings but with some flair! They’re sleek and fun — on trend! — and will transition well into the winter months, when wearing a pants doesn’t feel like an option anymore.

I bought my pair from Nordstrom. They come in petite sizing (XS-XL P) as well as regular (XS-XL) and plus (1X-2X). They aren’t on sale anymore, but you can keep an eye out to see if they go on sale again this season. If you can splurge and get them, I think you’ll love them!

6. Pink Lily Make It Yours Cream Striped Sweater, $46

I love this sweater so much! It is so soft and cozy and not so loose that it just hangs on my body. I styled it with a tight high-waisted midi skirt, tucking the sweater in the top of it. I thought it added some shape to the outfit (I thought it looked pretty cute!).

I also really like how the stripes on the arms draw some attention away from the midsection, which can add some dimension to an outfit while also creating a slimming effect! I love the browns and blues; they’re so fall! Plus, this sweater can easily transition into a winter wardrobe, too!

While Pink Lily doesn’t have as inclusive sizing as some other brands, they do have a pretty good range compared to other boutique sellers. I usually don’t see sizing beyond a 10-12 at most boutique companies, but Pink Lily has a lot of tops that come in XL (14-16) — plus, their clothes in general are more loose and flowy in style.

They also have sales a few times a month — I think if you sign up for text alerts, you might get a discount right away! If not, you can wait until there is a site-wide sale; I’m sure there will be another one this season!

7. Pink Lily Better Than You Know Brown Sweater, $46

The other sweater I’m including in this round-up also happens to be from Pink Lily! I couldn’t resist; I loved the style and color of this one too much. The sweater itself is waffled in texture and has sleeves that widen near the ends. I chose the brown color (because FALL) but it also comes in several other colors, including sage (another great fall and winter color!), cream, and black. There’s also some fun colors like magenta and lilac!

Similar to the lines on the sleeves in the other Pink Lily sweater, I think the wider sleeves on this sweater create a slimming effect as they draw the eye away from the middle. (The sleeves are also just really fun and cute!).

I paired this sweater with cuffed dark denim jeans and short brown booties. I also tucked the front of this sweater into the top of my jeans, but I think this sweater could look good with leggings, as it is a little longer in style. It’s very adaptable and an absolute staple for a fall wardrobe!

Again, sizing is more limited compared to other brands. This sweater comes in sizes S-XL.

8. NATURALIZER Sterling Knee High Boot, ON SALE for $109.90 (reg. $229.95!)

Shoe time! I know these shoes might seem *boring* compared to other fall shoe trends BUT I think these serve as a fall staple AND — the main reason I added them to this round up — they come in a wide calf! I always have trouble finding tall boots that zip all the way up to my knee. Each year or so I have to hunt down a good wide pair. These are the best I’ve found yet! YES to curve-friendly SHOES!

The block heel isn’t too high — about 2 inches — which make them a very comfortable and durable shoe. I bought them in the color Chocolate Leather (pictured) but they also come in a black suede color, a brown suede color, and a black leather color. All of them would work as a fall boot staple, if you are still on the hunt for a great pair of tall boots. I highly recommend!

I originally bought them during the Nordstrom sale over the summer but I just saw that they are over 50% off right now on Nordstrom’s website! The available sizes right now include 6 Reg. Calf – 11 W Calf.

9. AERIE Aerie Real Sunnie Full Coverage Lightly Lined Bra, ON SALE for $31.46 (reg. $44.95!)

Yes, I put a bra on this fall favorites list! Hear me out. I always have trouble finding a good t-shirt bra (a bra that is practical, flattering, AND comfortable). I know you might already have a go-to bra but I’m telling you that you need this one if you wear a fuller cup!

This is a full-coverage bra that is designed with the curvy girl in mind. Band sizes 38, 40 & 42 have wider, reinforced straps and 3rd hook + eye for extra comfort and support!

Because this bra is from Aerie, you know the sizing is going to be legit! This bra comes in sizes 30A-42DD and FIVE different neutral colors (yes I have one in every color; that’s how much I love this bra).

It’s also on sale right now — 30% off!! Go check it out! You’ll thank me later.

10. Madewell Narrow Leather Belt, $48

Last fall favorite to make the list is this leather belt from Madewell! It’s a ‘narrow’ belt but don’t let that deceive you — this is a go-to for high-waisted jeans, which are very on trend right now! Check the sizing chart to make sure you get the right size for your body.

The belt comes in two colors — brown and black — and can pair with any pair of jeans! I’ve never been a belt-wearer but this belt was a game-changer for me because it wasn’t too tight or too loose and it looked good on me! If you don’t usually wear belts, you might want to give this one a chance!
