Fall fashion isn’t just flannels and scarves; with warmer days still on the horizon, dresses are still a viable option for your fall wardrobe. On my instagram account, I played around with the new Reels feature and shared three fall dress looks. In this post, I’ll share more details about the outfits and how you can style them to fit your look!
1. Short Sweater Dress & Scarf with Booties

This dress is only $32 on Amazon and such a flattering fit for all different body types! The dress is short so it can be paired with leggings for a warmer look or worn with a bare leg on more temperate days. I paired mine with an oversized scarf of about the same length, just to add texture and dimension to the outfit, but I think cinching your waist with a belt could also help add some shape. While I wore booties with this outfit, I think taller boots would also look great with this dress and make your overall look scream ‘fall.’
This oversized dress is cozy and true to size, but I always recommend reading the reviews to get the best sizing info for your specific body type. The dress comes in tons of colors, including a deeper brown ‘caramel’ color that would look great in the later fall months as well as a ‘khaki apricot’ color that I think would transition well into winter months.

2. Sleeveless Button Dress Over Long Sleeves with Boots

This pocket dress from Lou & Grey (LOFT’s luxury leisure brand) is so simple but so cute. I love that the sleeveless dress can be worn with short sleeves, long sleeves, or even a sweater underneath, so that it transitions well from warmer days to cooler days without too much effort. I paired my dress with a striped long-sleeved shirt but I think a turtleneck would also look cute with this dress, despite the v-neck! The material is loose and soft but high quality. I also love that it has pockets!
This is another dress that would look great with a tall boot. I paired mine with my short Kork-Ease brown booties (not pictured here but they are in the reel on my instagram!), which I also think brings the look together! Add a leather satchel or backpack and you’re ready for an afternoon fall outing!
This dress is about $25 off at Lou & Grey but it looks their sizing and colors are limited. This dress also comes in a black color, which could work well for both late fall and winter months.

3. Long Turtleneck Sweater Dress & Long Sweater with Booties

This $35 dollar dress from Amazon is the real deal! I love how clingy — but still very comfy! — this dress is. I saw this dress paired with a long sweater of similar length and I totally stole the look — I love layering but think a shorter sweater wouldn’t pair as well with a dress this long. I also love the contrast between the tight dress and looser sweater; it adds some dimension. I paired my dress with my white booties. Because of the length of this dress, I think booties or sneakers are the way to go! Tall boots might interfere with the length of the dress.
This is a little long; I’m 5’8 with a long torso and average-length legs and this dress cuts just below my knee. You can look at reviews for sizing info (did you know you can filter by height, weight, and size if you want?!) and how this dress may fit your specific body type. It also comes in a variety of colors, including ‘apricot,’ which I bought for my winter wardrobe. Despite its name, it’s actually more of an off-white/ivory color that I think would look beautiful at a holiday dinner. Overall, I love this layered look; it’s so practical AND cute!
